Requirements and Configuration

The following configuration is required to use the bulk import feature of ALIM Web.

ALIM Web Server configuration:
In order for the Bulk Import navigator option to be available in ALIM Web, the Bulk Import and Export option must be enabled in the ALIM Web virtual directory on the ALIM Web Server. For more information, see Configure a New or Existing AssetWise ALIM Web Virtual Directory ).
Permissions:
To import/update documents or import comments, you must have the following permission:
- System Information > Data Maintenance
To configure bulk transaction preferences, you must have the following permissions:
- System Information > Data Maintenance
- System Information > eB System Settings
AssetWise Information Integrity Server configuration:
1. The AssetWise Information Integrity Server must have either Microsoft Excel installed.
2. Create a "Share Area" on the AssetWise Information Integrity Server and make sure the users with the Bulk Update permission have "full control" over the directory as they will need to copy the electronic files into this area.
3. In AssetWise System Management Console, activate the AssetWise Bulk Transaction Engine for the Work Queue.
4. Activate the work queue for the selected community.
If you are going to be importing documents, install the AssetWise Bulk Transaction Configuration Tool on the computer where you will perform the import and configure the INI file that will be used on import.
To install:
1. Go to the AssetWise Information Integrity Server client installation folder and double-click the MSI file.
2. When the Setup Wizard opens, click Next.
3. When the License Agreement page opens, read and accept the agreement and click Next.
4. On the Destination Folder page, accept or change the installation folder and click Next.
5. When the Ready to Install page opens, click Install.
6. When installation is complete, click Finish.
